I bounce back and forth between books and podcasts when I drive. Last year, around this time I talked about the Libby app and how it helped me devour more books than I ever have in a single year. After a while, the books tend to overlap. A lot. So this year I have switched back to podcasts for the most part and am enjoying listening to amazing people tell amazing stories, with a real focus on systems and leadership.
I wanted to share 2 of the most recent podcasts I have listened to, both very enjoyable episodes in their own right. Both flooded with industry leaders and heavy hitters in their respective fields, both full of amazing perspective from people who, like all of us, have deep flaws and work tremendously hard to overcome them.
And, in both cases, the guests were asked what was the one tool they would never give up. The one system or approach they valued above all others.
Guess what everyone? Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Ferris, Dax Sheppard and Brené Brown all gave the same answer: Exercise.
Hearing that over and over brought me back to why Hyatt Training is here. Why I kind of accidentally got into this business 25 years ago and never left. Why we are so passionate about what we do and who we have the pleasure of sharing it with. Why we consider the trainers that work alongside us and the members that choose to be here family.
The past 10 months have been full of flaws. For Hyatt Training, exercise has been a glue to help hold us all together. Thank you for trusting us with that. Enjoy these podcasts if you’re interested!
