About me

I worked as a physical educator and sport performance coach concurrently for the last 5 years. I have extensive experience with both 1-on-1 personal training and group fitness classes, working with both athletes and general population clients of all ages.

I love the relationship building aspect of my job and sharing my passion with others. Clients feel like they are family, and it makes celebrating their successes that much more enjoyable. I look forward to coming to work every day to help people who want to make a change in their health and need the support of someone who they trust always has their best interest in mind. Training is also a creative outlet for me as I really enjoy creating programs, solving complex problems while being able to implement my own personal training philosophies in the work that I do. Personal training is the most rewarding professional endeavor I’ve ever embarked on and knowing that I am able to make a lasting impact in someone else’s life is especially fulfilling.

My ideal client is someone who shows up and puts in the effort. One of my favorite personal training stories involves a young man I started training who had little to no experience in a gym and was completely new to working out. At first, he was reluctant to buy in and commit to adopting an active lifestyle, but he continued to put in the work in the gym. Over the course of 3 years, we worked together multiple times a week and the person I began training was no longer the person in front of me. He had transformed both in terms of his weight loss as well as his performance-related metrics. His confidence skyrocketed, he felt comfortable in his body for the first time in his life and he spent those three years crushing his goals and setting personal bests on a consistent basis. On our final day training together, he gave me the sincerest thank you for changing his life for the better and being there for him when he needed it most.

Clients like working with me because I listen to my their needs and assess and consider their limitations to tailor not only their workout but also my overall approach to helping them reach their individual goals. I am incredibly compassionate and here to help in any way I possibly can. If I don’t know the answer, I will seek it out. I truly believe that personal training can transform not only your physical health but also overall mental well-being.

Specialties

My specialties include improving body composition by increasing lean muscle tissue and lowering body fat, along with cardio training to help combat the effects of aging and enhance lifespan. I am also well versed in movement efficiency, video kinematic assessments, as well as speed and agility training techniques and methodologies. I am a proponent of mobility and proprioceptive/balance training as a crucial piece to improving overall athleticism and subsequent injury prevention.

Philosophy

I believe that consistency fuels growth—progress comes from showing up, day after day, and trusting the process. But life is ever-changing, which is why adaptability keeps it sustainable. Training should evolve with your goals, schedule, and circumstances to stay effective and realistic. Enjoyment drives commitment. When movement feels good and fits your lifestyle, it becomes something you want to do—not just something you have to do.

At the heart of it all is relationship building. Together, we build a foundation that supports not only fitness—but overall health and wellness.

Outside the gym

When I’m not working or working out, I’m spending time with my kids—ages 8, 6 and 3—who keep me busy between sport practices and the outdoor activities we like to do in our free time. Hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding and paddle boarding are some of our favorites. I am also a sports enthusiast and enjoy attending local basketball (Go Blazers!) and football games (Go Ducks!). You can find me winding down with a good book in hand or watching stand-up comedy.
