About me

For the past 3+ years I’ve been connecting with the community through yoga as an instructor in studio and corporate settings, as well as a mentor for new yoga teachers. I decided to become a personal trainer to help clients add more joy to their lives. For some, that means cultivating a better relationship with movement, while for others it might mean reaping the health benefits of a more active lifestyle. I love my job because it allows me to support people through their journey to living a more intentional life.

My ideal client is someone who has a vision for how they want to live and feel but needs a friend to support them on their journey. I help clients by listening and paying attention—listening to the things they tell me and paying attention to the patterns in their life and their movement. I try to find the root cause of an obstacle and address that.

My clients work with me because they want to work with someone who genuinely cares about their life as a whole, not just the number on the scale. I try to create real connections with my clients because we could all use another person in our corner.

Philosophy

Fitness can be enjoyable and effective—they aren’t mutually exclusive. It is about finding what works for you instead of forcing yourself to do what everyone else is doing. The “personal” of personal training is the most important part. How does movement apply to you? What are your goals? How can I help you?

Outside the gym

I grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., but I’ve lived in 6 states. I currently live in SE Portland. I love painting, soaking up the sun in the summer, and having Harry Potter and Star Wars movie marathons in the fall/winter. I’m a burgeoning plant mom (not totally sure what I’m doing all the time but trying my best!). I’m also petitioning to have music and food added to the list of love languages!
