About me
Since I can remember, I’ve wanted to share my passion for movement with others. Now as a certified personal trainer, I have dedicated my professional life to inspiring and motivating people to move… and enjoy it.
Certified in 2013, the bulk of my professional career was spent in the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. I’ve also been a certified Pilates instructor since 2016. My experience is working with the general population, prenatal and postpartum clients, as well as mature clients.
I love building close relationships with the people I train, as I follow their journey toward a happy and healthy lifestyle. I once trained a 90-year-old man for 6 years, who, no matter what ailment he had, was always in a great mood and ready to work out. He was a great inspiration to me.
My ideal client is the one who shows up by their own choice. The kind of client who tells themselves, “Enough of this! I’ve gotta take matters into my own hands and make that change!” I’ve learned you can’t make people do anything unless they want to do it themselves.
I help clients by listening carefully, and trying to understand their whys and why nots. I’m great at threading the needle between compassion and pushiness, by creating a safe environment where they feel understood, yet challenged.
Specialties
I am an expert in combining various methodologies to help clients reach their goals, be it endurance and strength training, weight management, pre/postpartum or some combination of all of them. My experience in strength training, endurance athletics and Pilates lends itself to clients of all abilities and ages.
Philosophy
If it doesn’t bring you at least a small amount of joy, find another way to stay active. Yes, you have to get out of your comfort zone in order to reach your goals, but if it feels like a chore, you won’t achieve consistency nor success. Personal training is money well spent. It’s an investment in yourself, not only on a physical level, but also mentally and emotionally.
Outside the gym
Living in Portland allows me to pursue my passion for nature and the great outdoors. My family and I enjoy many places for hiking. In my spare time, I also try to go back to my roots and sew. Besides staying active, my other passion is theatre and arts. Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or now, as a spectator, I’ve always loved that world.
