About me
For more than 25 years now, I have woken up before the sun and been at the studio ready for new adventures. I had the classic start in box gyms and group exercise then moved to personal training and endurance coaching. In 2010 I moved out on my own to forge a new path. I always wanted an environment that paid attention to the details—the space, the trainers, your health and wellness—that were really important to me.
I wear a couple hats at Hyatt Training, and they both are really enjoyable for me. I still hold a full-time training schedule and love the day-to-day, month-to-month and year-to-year progress of clients. I also enjoy problem solving when things aren’t right and the amazing connections I’ve made with my base (some of whom I’ve been training for more than 20 years). I also operate all the day-to-day in-studio operations. From laundry to equipment maintenance, I still get my hands dirty and make sure the studio runs as perfectly as possible. I get to play a big role in trainer recruitment and development, from the internship to the hiring process and from mentoring to continuing education and reviews. I’m very involved with every trainer on the team. And I get to onboard all new members and help match them with the best trainer to meet their unique needs.
For me, the heart of Hyatt Training is in the relationships between clients and trainers. Trust, consistency and experience lay the foundation for amazing lifestyle transformations and hard work. Nothing we do is easy and having the right coach, community and environment can make all the difference in the world.
Outside the gym
I live in the Cedar Mill neighborhood with my wife and business partner, Lee, our two kids, Max and Gigi, and our two dogs, Ginger the Jack Russell Terrier and Maple the Mountain Poodle. Our family is outdoor-oriented and loves to camp, hike, ride bikes and work in the yard. To relax, I enjoy woodworking and reading—mostly about business, entrepreneurship and biographies of great leaders throughout history.
