Name: Michael Leland
Length of time with Hyatt Training: ~10 years
Goals when he started: 1) My very first fitness goal was to run a marathon in less than 3 hours. For someone who was completely out of shape and hadn’t run in 20 years, this was a bit of a stretch. I’ve never achieved this goal. 2) My next big goal was to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon. I accomplished this goal in 2010. 3) After running Boston, my goal was to complete a triathlon. I’ve done a handful of these in the past 5 years, culminating in the Black Diamond Half Ironman.
Goals today: I’d love to run Boston again and complete a full Ironman.
Biggest areas of improvement: Overall fitness and nutrition
Proudest achievements: Completing a half Ironman, learning how to swim and qualifying for the Boston Marathon
Favorite thing about Hyatt Training: What could be better than sweating like a pig and spending time with Jeremy?
