John asks the best questions during his training sessions that really show he’s puzzling through the intricacies of movement and mechanics. It’s a joy to work through these things with him while sharing in his carefree sense of humor and demeanor. He’s always so fun to be around.
Name: John Miner
Age: 65
Length of time with Hyatt Training and date when you started: A long time…years. I really don’t remember when I started.
What were your goals when you started? Balance, strength and agility.
What are your goals today? Really the same. Articulated differently, I want to live at a high level of fitness and functionality until my last breath. Until then, improved athletic movement and power are on the list of goals.
What have been your biggest areas of improvement? In a very subtle way, everything has improved. For me, the most noticeable is core strength and power. Some friends have asked if I feel like I am stronger than I have ever been or have commented on the strength of my posture.
What is your favorite thing about Hyatt Training? The whole vibe at Hyatt Training is great…the physical facility, all the people, and yes…Jeremy’s playlists.
What is your favorite thing about your personal trainer? Dustin is very knowledgeable about the body and the body-mind interaction, nutrition and he has a very sneaky plan to help me achieve my goals…sneaky in the sense that without workouts ever feeling like a grind, we get where I want and then keep going.
What is your proudest achievement or biggest accomplishment since you began working with Hyatt Training? I can hit a golf ball 300 yards 🙂
What have you learned: Better nutrition, better posture, better technique and how to say good morning in Japanese.
What advice would you give to other people starting on their fitness journey? Do it. Stick with it. Bring joy to it and you will find more of it.
If you remember, do you mind sharing why you chose to start training at Hyatt Training? Our massage therapist told us about it and a specific trainer that was there at the time. My wife started first and spoke very highly of the whole experience and I was getting in a rut with my home workouts.
