Jody Bohannon is strong. Not “strong for a runner”, “strong for her size”, or “strong for someone who hasn’t been training for that long.” She’s more like “200 lb deadlifts for sets of 10” and “bench pressing 100 lbs for multiple reps” strong. She’s real-deal strong, and she got there by being unwaveringly consistent and having one of the most positive attitudes of anyone we’ve ever met. On top of all that, since starting training she’s lost a considerable amount of weight, gotten rid of nagging aches and pains, and completely changed her body composition along the way, too.

Length of time with Hyatt Training and date when you started: I joined Hyatt Training in September 2016, almost two years now.

What were your goals when you started? My goal was to drop a few pounds and recover from a foot injury so that I could run again.

What are your goals today? My focus is on body composition improvements, a pull-up and throwing around 225 pounds on the trap bar like it’s an everyday set vs a max set.

What has been your biggest challenge? Nutrition is and will continue to be my biggest challenge.

What have been your biggest areas of improvement? Body composition – 14 pounds, 2 pant sizes and 1 shirt size in the past year.

What is your favorite thing about Hyatt Training? I love the atmosphere and the people – it feels like family.

What is your favorite thing about your personal trainer? Trevor challenges me, we set goals, laugh, achieve those goals, he mixes things up and then set more goals.

What is your proudest achievement or biggest accomplishment since you began working with Hyatt Training: Change in body composition, oh and 225lbs on the trap bar 😊.

What have you learned: I enjoy weight training as much if not more than running. Improvement in my nutrition happens one small thing at a time.

What advice would you give to other people starting on their fitness journey? I know that its overwhelming, don’t be shy the trainers at Hyatt Training are amazing and they listen well.
