Name: Gary Schoos
Age: 79
Length of time with Hyatt Training and date when you started: After my wife found Hyatt Training, I came over in April 2019.
What were your goals when you started? My goal was to improve my overall health and fitness. I was advised that I might have to have both knees replaced. I was hoping with the proper training I could keep from having to doing that.
What are your goals today? With the help of the great staff and my trainer a better growth in balance, flexibility and strength. In general a better, healthy body.
What has been your biggest challenge? My biggest challenge is not in the gym but that of pushing away from the dinner table.
What have been your biggest areas of improvement? I would have to say that of my knees and that better overall feeling you get from working out.
What is your favorite thing about Hyatt Training? I could go on for ever about Hyatt Training. In all my years in and out of gyms this gym is the best. You have a couple that have put their heart and soul into providing a gym that makes you feel like you are part of a big family. They have given us a facility that has good equipment, is clean, and has a group of trainers that give you a feeling that they care about you and your fitness goals. You guys are the BEST.
What is your favorite thing about your personal trainer? My trainer is the greatest, she has guided me through the hard times and good. Her ability to help you achieve goals are right on. The knees are doing great.
What is your proudest achievement or biggest accomplishment since you began working with Hyatt Training? This is a hard one for me to pick one area or thing. My general overall feeling and confidence has changed to the plus side. There is something about working out that just makes you feel better overall. Life is great.
What have you learned: Remember it takes time to make that change to undo the many years of bad habits
What advice would you give to other people starting on their fitness journey? You are starting a journey not a race so take your time and stay with it. It will give you what you are looking for if you stay with it. Some advice from an old timer: it is easier to stay with it than trying to start over again.
If you remember, do you mind sharing why you chose to start training at Hyatt Training? We had been training at another gym and felt like we wanted more. We had heard about Hyatt Training so my wife ventured over to try it out. That was all it took, we both made the move and have been very happy that we did. The range of trainers and the gym has been the best for us. We have found a home. Keep up the great work.
