Thanksgiving kicks off the season of excess. Check out our November personal trainer tips to give yourself a healthy start to the holiday season. Yoga instructor Lee Carson shares her Thanksgiving day advice.
“I have a tradition of going for a run on Thanksgiving morning. It could be alone, or with my family. It could be at 5 a.m. because that’s when it fits, or at a lesurely 8 a.m. I know there will be lots of sitting around and I always feel better if I’ve moved a bit and cleared my head. While I’m running I like to reflect on all the things I’m grateful for and set an intention for the day.”
Lee’s personal training philosophy
Our bodies are incredibly efficient. If there are joints, muscles and functions that we don’t use, our body stops maintaining those areas, putting attention to what we do use. Yoga is a powerful way to keep our joints moving, our muscles at their proper length and fresh, oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood moving throughout our system. These aspects make yoga a tonic of youth.
