“There is, I hope, a thesis in my work: we may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated. That sounds goody-two-shoes, I know, but I believe that a diamond is the result of extreme pressure and time. Less time is crystal. Less than that is coal. Less than that is fossilized leaves. Less than that it’s just plain dirt. In all my work, in the movies I write, the lyrics, the poetry, the prose, the essays, I am saying that we may encounter many defeats—maybe it’s imperative that we encounter the defeats—but we are much stronger than we appear to be and maybe much better than we allow ourselves to be.” – Maya Angelou
This week, Hyatt Training turns 9. It’s been the run of our dreams up to this point (COVID aside). With this anniversary we’ve taken time to look back and appreciate where we’ve been. In honor of the occasion, podcast guru and personal trainer Max Steele sat down with Jeremy to dive into the origins of the studio, the history of our physical locations and core, founding philosophies. Take a listen here:
All celebrations aside, the truth is, we’ve got future-focused blinders on. This anniversary we are laser focused on what lies ahead.
We’re more committed than ever to what we’ve created. To the people we’ve had the pleasure of serving. To the trainers on our dedicated team. To the community we’ve brought together. To the lives changed under our roof.
The chaos ensued by the pandemic will subside. Step by step, there will be a return to life that more closely resembles what we all knew on 2/1/2020.
The irony, of course, is that the same chaos in the wake of COVID 19 has been the catalyst for the Hyatt Training of the future. For what we hope is our diamond. And we want to share what’s ahead.
Expanded offerings
Physical therapy. Since our beginnings we’ve partnered with physical therapists in each of our three locations. With our lease to Advance Sports and Spine ending, we are excited to bring physical therapy “in-house” under the Hyatt Training umbrella. You can expect the same 1:1 approach and high-level customer service that you’ve come to know in our training services. We will be sharing more details soon!
Online Coaching. We believe smart strength training should be accessible for all. The Hyatt Training app gives us the opportunity to deliver our services to a broader group than ever before.
We’ve created two price points ($36 or $150 per month) to offer two levels of online coaching. Our Fit Fam Curated Workouts ($36/month) offer professionally designed workouts, structure, accountability, community and a monthly trainer check-in to keep you on track.
Our Custom Coaching Workouts are created specifically for you and delivered via the Hyatt Training app each week. This $150/month option also includes a monthly trainer check-in and lots of support to help you stay on track, reach your goals, and feel your best.
Nutrition coaching. We’ve got the experts on our team and we wanted to create a way for our community to tap into their talent in a more clearly defined manner. We offer three ways to provide nutritional support to members and community members alike: Single consult, personal training add-on, and monthly support with 30-minute weekly check-ins. All options provide loads of support to make long-lasting changes and reach goals around nutrition.
Weekly connection. The entire Hyatt Training community is invited to join us each Monday and Friday via Zoom to connect and workout together. Whatever your involvement, be it the app, physical therapy, nutrition coaching or our hallmark 1:1 in person training, you are welcome and invited to join us! Jeremy leads a bodyweight strength workout to kick off the week, and Lee closes things out on Friday with an all-levels yoga flow focused on alignment, prevention and overall health.
Career Track Professional Opportunities
In the midst of our COVID closure it became clear to us that we wanted to do more for our team of trainers. We also wanted to offer an opportunity that is extremely rare for professionals in the fitness industry. That wish bloomed into our career-track trainer path providing fully-funded benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, short/long term disability, paid time off and a 401k matching program. It is our wish to provide a comprehensive package paired with competitive wages so that our team can do what they love the most: train you! We’re really excited with what we created and the security it provides to our team professionals.
Private reserved spaces
Going above and beyond expectations for cleanliness and safety has always been part of our DNA. When COVID hit, it was no different. We have re-created the studio into private reserved workout areas with dedicated equipment that is sanitized between each use. Spaces can still be reserved for open gym independent workouts. COVID aside, the extra space makes it feel like each session has their own private gym, and we love that.
Outside workout options
Member comfort is and always has been another huge priority to us. To adapt to COVID-19 we’ve incorporated two outside workout spaces fully-loaded with equipment, outside and with easy access to all the amenities of the studio.
What’s the same?
World-class trainers. World-class facility. Decades of experience. Value for top-quality offerings. Service service service to our members, clients, and trainers, above all else. And a community of dedicated super fans cheering you on to reach your goals and feel your best!
Here’s to allowing ourselves (all of us!!) to be better than we ever dreamed possible.
