When we step onto the gym floor at Hyatt Strength + Wellness, we’re training for much more than just physical strength.
This week, our featured article explores the impact that running and strength training have on our mental health (substitute “running” for your favorite cardio).
What really stands out in this research is how these active interventions hold their own against traditional medical treatments. For us, this feels incredibly familiar because it parallels the data we’ve seen for years regarding chronic back pain.
Study after study shows that targeted exercise and strength work can match or even outperform passive treatments like surgery or chiropractic adjustments.
The common thread?
Whether we are talking about our mental health or a tricky lower back, passive fixes rarely beat active participation. At the same time, we believe strongly in the amazing work our partners do in acupuncture, massage, PT, chiropractic and other treatment modalities. We love being a part of a solid team approach and think the best outcomes come with a well-thought-out variety of interventions and practitioners working together.
Movement is medicine, and we see time after time that doing the work consistently pays off. I’d love to dive deeper with you into this or any other topic!
