An excellent training program needs to be timely, have ample variety and be fun to work through!
Personality: Creative, passionate, detail-oriented and driven

Proudest athletic achievement: Coming back from a very severe “career ending” injury sustained during a long Nutcracker run. After surgery and three months of rehab I spent the next six months working with a personal trainer who specialized in Pilates and rehabilitation for dance injuries. Finally, after eleven months of daily re-training I was dancing at the same level as prior to the injury, and I was able to continue with my career for another three years before retirement.
I have taught yoga for a little over seven years in a wide variety of settings and across a diverse group of participants including therapeutic yoga for seniors, private Hatha yoga in a traditional yoga studio setting and men’s yoga for drug and rehab clients at the DePaul Treatment Center in Portland.
One of the best things about being a personal trainer is working with motivated individuals to achieve their health and fitness goals. It’s inspiring to watch their mindset change as they reach their goals and plan for new challenges.
My specialties include yoga for newbies and athletes as well as training for balance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Gait specialist is a new area of interest of mine, and I was privileged to be part of the RunLab Gait clinic this month here at Hyatt Training.
I believe everyone has a unique background and set of needs with regards to improving their health and fitness. The best program is one that is designed to take these individual needs into consideration, and then is adjusted as progress is made.
Outside the gym
I was born and raised in Portland and spent almost six years in Manhattan. I returned to the lovely Pacific Northwest to go back to school at Portland State and Pacific University. I currently live just off Mt. Tabor and love hiking and biking in the park. I enjoy getting outside whenever I can. Cycling, outdoor yoga and riding motorbikes are a few of my favorite activities.
