I love my job because I get to help people become the best versions of themselves!
Personality: Funny, ambitious, adventurous, lighthearted
Certifications: Certified Personal Trainer (NASM)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with certificate in Human Resources from Washington State University
Proudest athletic achievements:
- Running obstacle courses competitively. I placed 39th in my first competitive race, the PacWest Spartan Sprint.
Personal training combines my passions for fitness and teaching. As a kid, I played different sports (mostly soccer and volleyball) and danced competitively. After I sustained an injury and was no longer able to dance, I started working out in the gym and got really bored. As a result, I spent a lot of time researching new ways to exercise without getting hurt. Fitness became a full-blown passion from there.
I help clients by catering to their personal goals. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. I really take the client’s goals and aspirations into account. No two people are the same and neither are their training programs. I love teaching people how to live their healthiest lives from a holistic standpoint. My ideal client is someone who has a clear goal and wants to make a lasting change in their life.
My specialty is strength and conditioning. I love using new and innovative workouts that unlock the body’s full potential.
My training philosophy is simplicity. One of the main reasons people have a hard time maintaining an active lifestyle is because things get too complicated and stressful. I believe that being fit and healthy is not a quick fix, but rather something that should be sustained your entire life. It should be something that you enjoy doing and that makes you feel good. As your personal trainer, I’m here to facilitate and guide you, but you have to put in the work. At the end of the day, your progress is determined by how hard you’re willing to work.
Outside the gym
I live in Vancouver, Wash., with my cat Zelda. Besides training for obstacle course races, I also enjoy hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, yoga, snowboarding (badly) and snowshoeing. I also recently reached the summit of Mount Hood and would love to get into mountaineering more. It was one of the best (and hardest) experiences of my life!
