After my ballet career ended, I sought ways to maintain my health, improve my performance and enhance my quality of life. In the process, I fell in love with exercise and nutrition and have been working in the field ever since.
I’ve worked as a clinical exercise physiologist at the Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic at Providence St. Peter Hospital, as a group exercise instructor at Washington State University, as a nutrition and exercise counselor at Washington State University and as an exercise physiologist at Studio X Fitness.
I love being a personal trainer because I enjoy helping people reach their full potential and improve their quality of life. One of my clients, who was referred to me by his primary care physician, had cholesterol levels above 300. After he finished my program, his cholesterol levels were below 200 and he’d lost 40 pounds! It felt great to make a tangible difference in someone’s health.
My specialties include injury rehabilitation and prevention, athletic performance and nutrition. I also provide guided stretching and myofascial release to optimize muscle response and reduce soreness. I especially enjoy working with aspiring, professional, recreational and/or retired athletes.
I help clients by providing personalized nutritional support and individualized workouts to optimize resting metabolic equivalents, improve stamina, agility, performance, mood and physiological responses.
Outside the gym
I’m originally from Auburn, Alabama, but grew up in Washington state. I enjoy hiking, painting, reading, biking and beach bumming. I currently live in Portland with two leopard geckos and a cat I claim as my own (even though she actually belongs to my best friend).
